On a clear night of observation, the rapid cooling of the air causes dew or frost to fall, which causes a lot of problems for astronomy amateurs. At some point it simply does not matter how good a telescope or eyepiece you use, because the optical surfaces are covered with moisture. The same happens during a long session of astrophotography, at the end of which a significant part of the footage may be completely unusable due to image clouding.

Preventing optics wetting can be prevented by using special heating systems from Asterion. The series includes heaters for lenticular and mirror-lens telescopes, for a variety of eyepieces, finders and secondary mirrors for Newtonian telescopes, as well as controllers to manage the heating process.
When selecting a controller for multiple heaters, their overall combination should be considered. If the finder or eyepiece can be heated even to a certain excess, the heating of the telescope front lens or Newtonian secondary mirror must be moderate and strictly controlled.
Depending on the temperature and humidity of the air, the heating power has to be selected individually. It is only necessary to ensure that the dew point is avoided and that moisture cannot condense, avoiding excessive heating. After all, it causes convective air flows that distort the image.

DRC-2ch - perfect for controlling the heating of two optical units of the same type. It can be a lens of a small astrograph and a guide lens, or a finder and an eyepiece.
The controller box is equipped with a small Velcro tie, with the help of which it can be fixed on one or another part of the telescope and the wires of heaters can be conveniently separated.
